The CMA CGM Group is in the process of selling all of Bolloré Logistics’ operations in Guadeloupe, Martinique, Saint-Martin, French Guiana, and Polynesia, with an offer coming from the Balguerie Group.
This move comes after CMA CGM took over Bolloré Logistics from the Bolloré Group this past February.
The divestment aligns with the commitments CMA CGM made to the European Commission and the Polynesian Competition Authority when acquiring Bolloré Logistics.
Consequently, the Balguerie Group has presented a put option to CMA CGM and an exclusivity agreement has been signed for this sale.
CMA CGM stated, “The finalization of this put option will follow the necessary information and consultation steps with the relevant work councils.”
“Balguerie Group’s actual acquisition of these operations is contingent upon securing the required regulatory clearances and the approval of both competition authorities, consistent with CMA CGM’s commitments.”
Bolloré Logistics’ activities in La Reunion and Nouvelle Calédonie are not part of this sale and will continue to be under the control of the CMA CGM Group.
The acquisition of Bolloré Logistics by CMA CGM for €4.850bn is its most significant purchase since its inception in 1978, marking a key move in the CMA CGM Group’s logistics expansion strategy, complementing its longstanding maritime transportation business.
